Judy has taken refuge in her own version of the fifties. She strives to be the perfect fifties housewife – and why not? Housework, proper housework – cleaning behind things, baking days and looking after your man – is surely as valid an option as going out to work in a job you don’t like. It’s all a matter of choice, isn’t it? But poor Judy is up against it as life in the twenty first century consipires to ruin the domestic idyll she has created.
